The RWS 8x57 JRS ID Classic 198gr 12.8g cartridge features a semi jacketed bullet of W. Brenneke's design, once known as the Original Brenneke TIG (Torpedo Ideal Geschoss). The idea of combining a wide wound channel with deep penetration was successfully achieved through a complex core made of two sections of differing hardness. The front section, made of soft lead, deforms well on impact, while the rear section (harder), retaining its shape and mass, ensures a deep wound. The soft steel jacket features a unique cutting edge that trims fur at the entry wound, making it difficult for the bleeding to stop quickly. Recommended for hunting small to medium sized cloven hoofed game, as well as wild boar. The RWS 8x57 JRS ID Classic is a premium segment cartridge, perfectly suited for double barreled rifles. In double barreled rifles, high rate of fire is achieved, as the barrel deviates only minimally from the target upon firing.
