Characterized as ammunition with controlled expansion. Upon penetration, it opens quite quickly, taking on a mushroom shape as it expands. The lead core is slightly exposed. A cannelure at the rear securely bonds the bullet jacket to the lead, preventing bullet fragmentation. This contributes to deep penetration. The bullet has low fragmentation and increased accuracy. The RWS 243 Win cartridge is preferred by hunters who want to minimize damage to game.
