Nosler introduced the .28 Nosler caliber in 2015 as the most powerful commercially available 7mm cartridge at the time. The casing features a rebated rim and a specific shoulder geometry to maximize powder capacity. The cartridge is loaded with a lead free E-Tip bullet featuring a signature green polymer tip and a copper alloy core, ensuring uniform expansion and retention of over 95% of the bullet's original weight on impact. The 150 grain bullet reaches a muzzle velocity of 991 m/s (3250 fps) and muzzle energy of 4786 J (3530 ft-lbs). The Expansion Control Ring (ECR) ensures consistent expansion across a wide range of impact velocities, while the boat tail design provides excellent long range performance. Thanks to its fully lead free construction, this cartridge meets all regional lead free hunting requirements and is ideal for taking large game at long range.
