The MTs-108 hunting shotgun reflects the earlier MTs-6 and MTs-8 models, which earned a strong reputation among hunters and competitive shooters participating in high level competitions. Special praise was given to the ideal geometry of the muzzle devices, the fast acting trigger mechanisms, their high reliability, and the overall ergonomics of the shotgun, fully meeting the requirements of shooting sports. Featuring high aesthetic and ballistic performance along with reliable mechanical operation, the MTs-108 hunting shotgun with interchangeable barrels was awarded a gold medal at an international specialized fair in Bulgaria in 1985. The increased value of the MTs-108 lies in the fact that it is produced in limited quantities for internal supply of sports teams, making it extremely difficult to purchase directly from the factory. To improve aesthetics and durability, the hinge mechanism was reinforced. A collar is installed between the receiver and the forend, rigidly connected by a V-shaped hinge. Exceptional strength and wear resistance of the double barrel shotgun are provided by the massive receiver and barrel locking system using two locking frames. The over and under barrels of the MTs-108 are equipped with a wide ventilated rib featuring a central guide line. The locking lever is fixed in the open position; the safety is non automatic; the locking button is located on the right side of the receiver; the latch connecting the barrels to the receiver is mounted in the barrel block, locks in extreme positions, and allows barrel attachment in any latch position. Intercepting hammers are present to ensure safe handling. The forend is non removable and attached to the barrels with screws. Spent cartridges are ejected by a common extractor. The MTs-108 double barrel shotgun features a straight stock with a rubber recoil pad. Shot pattern density when firing standard hard shot with a diameter of 2.35-2.5 mm at a distance of 35 m from both barrels is approximately 70 percent with a 90 field pattern. The used MTs-108 shotgun is well suited for hunting situations where maximum long range shot accuracy is required. At distances up to 25 m, using this shotgun is not advisable, as misses or excessive damage to game may occur. This example is supplied with an additional paired set of soldered barrels, one rifled and one smoothbore. The firearm is sold in a leather case trimmed with green velvet.
