The Weaver rail is designed for installation on the Sauer 404 rifle. It allows modern riflescopes and red dot sights to be mounted conveniently, using one of the most widely adopted standards for firearm accessory mounting.
On the Sauer 404, special grooves are provided on the top of the receiver for rail installation. Mounting is simple: the rail is placed onto the factory mounting position and secured by tightening two side screws with a hex key.
Unlike quick-detach systems with a side lever, this design reduces the risk of play or loosening of the mount.
