William Wales Scagel, better known as Bill Scagel, lived a long life from 1873 to 1963. He began making knives in 1910 and crafted his final knife just a year before his passing. Due to the exceptional quality of his work, Scagel is often regarded as the founder of the custom knife industry in the United States. His distinctive style became a classic and influenced generations of hunting knife makers.
