The Blaser R8 rifle series was developed as a successor to the legendary Blaser R93, introducing numerous technical improvements that enhanced an already near-perfect platform. Its renowned straight-pull bolt action now features a bolt head with a 45% larger locking surface. Additionally, the radial locking system has been tested to withstand a chamber pressure of up to 14,500 bar, setting a durability record in its class. The rifle features a manual cocking system via a cocking slide (Shpanheber),allowing the user to carry the rifle safely and bring it into firing mode with a single motion. A unique detachable magazine design integrates the trigger guard and trigger into the magazine assembly, reducing overall size and eliminating accidental discharge risks. Since 2018, the rifle has supported the Illumination Control system, which automatically activates the illuminated reticle on scopes like Zeiss Victory, Blaser Infinity, Blaser B1, and B2 when cocked, enhancing the shooting experience. The 420 mm barrel is cold-hammer forged and perfectly aligned with the chamber for maximum accuracy. The R8’s modularity allows the shooter to easily replace the barrel with one of a different caliber — for instance, a .223 Winchester barrel available in our store.
