  • The Borovnik hunting carbine may be the dream of many hunters, yet by definition it is a bespoke firearm produced in single examples. Side by side and triple barrel guns, double rifles with horizontal or vertical barrel layouts, and even shotguns with exposed hammers, all these types of hunting firearms from the Borovnik gunmaking house are highly valued by collectors worldwide. At the same time, firearms created by Ludwig Borovnik cannot be described as purely collectible items. Borovnik is a family company founded by Ludwig Borovnik in Ferlach, Austria, and continued by his descendants. These are first and foremost excellent tools for hunters, where the beauty of engraving and smooth flowing lines are combined with outstanding shooting performance. Yes, this is exclusive оружие, but above all it is a firearm designed to return from the hunt with a worthy trophy. Like other elite firearms, the Borovnik double barrel carbine was made to individual order. The average production time is about 18 months, with more than 90 percent of parts manufactured by hand. This example was built according to the same principles, and the high precision of fitting allows fast disassembly combined with a complete absence of play. After assembly, all components are perfectly aligned, making it virtually impossible to distinguish this firearm from a new one. The Borovnik carbine is a double barrel firearm with vertically mounted barrels. The caliber is the classic hunting 9.3x74R, offering strong bullet energy with moderate recoil. Carbines and double rifles chambered in 9.3x74R are well suited for hunting large game, allowing the Borovnik to be used for wild boar, moose, or even bear. In theory, this rifled vertical double could also be used for safari hunting, although while its stopping power is sufficient for leopard, a more powerful cartridge would be required for lion or buffalo. The price of the rifle largely depends on its design, and here the Borovnik carbine fully justifies its value. The stock is made of walnut, with the wood seasoned for at least 20 years, finished with lacquer and checkering. The checkering on the pistol grip and forend is executed in a scale pattern, ensuring a secure and comfortable hold. The value of this used carbine is further enhanced by its finish, silver side plates on the receiver, pistol grip cap, and breech section of the barrels are decorated with engraving depicting hunting scenes of wild boar and deer, along with floral ornaments. The stock ergonomics are also excellent, with carefully designed geometry providing superb handling and minimizing recoil even without a recoil pad on the butt. A used rifled carbine by the masters of Borovnik, purchased from the Arm Elit firearms store, is an excellent gift for a hunter or a collector.
