When it comes to .50 caliber firearms, special attention should be paid to cleaning the bore after shooting. With a standard 240-260 grain powder charge in 12.7x99 ammunition, there is a high probability that 1-3% of the powder may not burn completely and will settle on firearm components.
For this purpose, the American company Dewey has developed a .50 caliber brass jag, an effective solution for barrel cleaning.
Its operating principle is simple: after using brushes of different stiffness levels, take a special patch, a small piece of cloth, and use the jag to pass it through the bore several times until the patches come out clean and free of powder residue.
For convenient use, the jag is designed for a standard cleaning rod with an 8/32" thread and does not require a separate cleaning rod.
